Meet Matt, Capture's Business Director

Our Capture Business Director Matt Hinton celebrates 5 years with SMG this month โœจ ๐ŸŽˆ

Tell us a little bit about your career in media to date ๐ŸŽ‰

Before joining SMG I worked at various media agencies including Dentsu Aegis and Group M, leading accounts such as Kelloggs, Arla and Barclays. I joined SMG back in 2018 and spent the next 4.5 years leading #retailpartnerships under our Threefold-Agency, before moving over to head up our #commercemarketing agency, {Capture} 6 months ago.

What is your role today? ๐ŸŽ‰

Today Iโ€™m lucky to work alongside a team of 23 ambitious individuals across the Capture business. As most people in our industry can relate to, no two days are the same, however what I enjoy most is building relationships with our clients, listening to what they need and driving the team to deliver against this.

What have been your highlights of the last 5 years? ๐ŸŽ‰

I joined SMG as the 100th employee and now weโ€™re close to triple that. Itโ€™s been brilliant to be a part of that growth and in particular the step change weโ€™ve been a part of within #retailmedia; partnering with some of the UKโ€™s leading retailers at Threefold, shaping our data services and capabilities at Lobster and building an innovative, forward thinking commerce media agency at Capture.

What are you most looking forward to over the next 5 years? ๐ŸŽ‰

It's an incredibly exciting time to be involved in commerce media with lots of positive change taking place. That being said, I will never lose sight of the fact that 'people' will always remain our biggest asset.

Whilst we see the convergence of previously disparate media landscapes, the continued focus on data usage, the drive for consistency in the market place โ€“ itโ€™s 'people' that make this happen.

Surrounding ourselves with the brightest and best minds in the industry and providing a platform for professional and personal growth will always be at the forefront of everything we do, for the next 5 years and beyond.
